The Saudi Airlines company had published a tweet in mid-April in which it said: “Is the luggage ready?”, In reference to the imminent date to allow the Saudis to travel abroad without restrictions, after a suspension which has lasted more than a year since the Corona pandemic spread around the world.

In response to these questions, Deputy Director General of Saudi Airlines Communication Khaled bin Abdul Qadir Tash said Saudi Airlines is ready to fully exploit international flights on 5 Shawwal 1442 corresponding to May 17, 2021, according to what was announced. by the General Civil Aviation Authority earlier.

According to the Okaz newspaper, the date of full restrictions on international travel will be lifted on Shawwal’s fifth of next month.

And the General Civil Aviation Authority had changed the date to allow Saudi citizens to travel abroad, completely lifting the suspension of international flights, and opening the Kingdom’s airports, to 05/10/1442 AH corresponding to 05/17/2021.

It should be noted that Saudi Airlines has announced a cooperation agreement with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to experiment and test the IATA electronic travel document, in order to support the safe return to international travel and the recovery of the aviation sector after the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
