In a much-anticipated announcement, Saudia Airlines has confirmed its plans to soon serve the flight route between Chattogram, Bangladesh, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The inaugural flight is scheduled for March 2024, marking a strategic turning point for both cities.
Initially, the frequency of this new route will be three weekly flights. To ensure these rotations, Saudia plans to use two of its flagship aircraft, the Boeing 777 and the Boeing 747, known for their capacity and comfort.
This new airline is expected to play a crucial role in transporting millions of Bangladeshi passengers to Saudi Arabia, especially during the Hajj season. It represents an opportunity to facilitate the journey of Bangladeshi pilgrims to the Holy Places of Islam.
Saudia’s offering joins that already offered by several other airlines operating from Chattogram, such as Flydubai, Air Arabia, Oman Air and Jazeera Airways, significantly expanding travel options for residents of the Bangladeshi city to the Middle East.
