As the 2024 Hajj season approaches, Saudi Airlines (Saudia) is taking exceptional measures to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for pilgrims coming from all corners of the world to participate in the pilgrimage to the holy sites of Islam. This year, Saudi Arabia’s national airline is committed to offering an unprecedented capacity of 1.2 million seats on 150 aircraft intended to connect the faithful with spirituality and tradition.
Operations began with the first groups of passengers boarding their flights to the five main Saudi airports: Jeddah, Medina, Yanbu, as well as Riyadh. To guarantee quality assistance, teams of specialists have been deployed on a large scale.
Amer Al Khushail, CEO of the Hajj and Umrah division at Saudia, emphasizes that the company’s main objective is to improve the experience of travelers at every stage of their journey. Among notable initiatives, the Saudi carrier issues boarding passes for inbound and outbound flights and offers multilingual customer service with staff speaking in thirty different languages.
Recognizing the importance of food and spiritual needs during this sacred journey, Saudia also offers a diverse choice of meals to satisfy all tastes and broadcasts enriching Islamic content. Each passenger has a personal screen where Miqat announcements and prayer times are displayed, with free access to three hundred thousand minutes of Islamic content to prepare and accompany pilgrims in their spiritual quest.
Support for passengers with reduced mobility
Saudia does not neglect the specific needs of its passengers. Special arrangements are provided for people with disabilities, including assistance with oxygen bottles, stretchers, or wheelchairs, thus ensuring that the pilgrimage is accessible to all.
