Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the German company Lilium, has just taken a new step towards the modernization of its transport infrastructure by concluding an agreement for the acquisition of 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This innovative partnership aims to revolutionize air mobility in the kingdom, by introducing clean and efficient technology.
The eVTOL, designed by Lilium, is an all-electric aircraft that offers an ecological and rapid alternative to traditional means of transport. This model can accommodate up to six passengers.
The particularity of these “flying cars” lies in their ability to take off and land vertically, thanks to powerful and silent electric motors, which allows them to easily integrate into urban areas without requiring extensive airport infrastructure. Lilium’s innovative design also includes wings with rotors that flip from vertical to horizontal mode.
With an impressive range, these aircraft are capable of covering significant distances, making non-stop flights between different cities or regions possible. This opens up new opportunities for tourism, business, and even emergency response, where speed and efficiency are crucial.
