Pilgrimage Season: Emirates increases the number of flights to Jeddah and Medina

In order to satisfy the growing demand of its passengers wishing to go to Medina and Mecca (the holy places of Islam) for the pilgrimage, Emirates has decided to add additional flights to its program during the current month. These are special flights serving King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in El Madinah.

The Emirati air carrier plans to operate thirty-one additional routes until July 20, 2022, in addition to the flights already in the United Arab Emirates airline program to these two destinations during the summer season.

The strong demand recorded by passengers of Emirates and other airlines is the result of the increase in the quota of pilgrims by the government of the Saudi kingdom this year, after the lifting of the health restriction in several countries of the world. This peak comes in particular from pilgrims residing in the following countries: United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh in Asia, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt and Ethiopia in Africa, Turkey and Kingdom in Europe.
