Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has just struck a major blow in the aeronautical industry by placing a historic order with Airbus. The order is for 105 A320neo family aircraft, a number that significantly exceeds typical acquisitions in the region. Currently, the Saudi carrier already has 32 aircraft of this same model, but this new acquisition is part of a broader strategy.
The objective of this massive order is clear: to strengthen Saudia’s fleet to enable it to dominate the skies of the Middle East and support Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions. Indeed, the kingdom aspires to become the continent’s leading tourist destination by 2030. This expansion of the fleet is therefore an essential pillar to welcome a growing number of international visitors and satisfy the constantly increasing demand.
