Saudia and Etihad strengthen their partnership around their loyalty programs

Etihad Airways and Saudi Airlines signed a new agreement for the loyalty programs of the two carriers to earn and redeem miles, which would enhance the code-sharing partnership between them.

Under the new agreement, members of the Etihad Guest and Alfursan program will be able to earn and redeem miles on the two companies’ flights, in addition to earning tier and tier miles, which will help them advance to the next level of tiers faster.

Members can also earn and redeem miles on codeshare flights operated by Etihad Airways and Saudi Airlines.

Terry Daly, Executive Director, Guest Experience, Brand and Marketing at Etihad Airways said that the agreement contributes to strengthening the two companies’ commitment to business and leisure travel in both markets as it complements the code partnership agreement currently in place between the two sides and opens more destinations for Etihad Guest members to earn and spend miles through Travel.

The two companies will also re-launch the code partnership agreement beyond the main operations center of each company .. Under this comprehensive commercial partnership that included more than 110,000 flights over the past two years, Saudi Airlines has added its SV code to 15 destinations of Etihad Airways in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia, Asia, the United States of America and Europe .. while Etihad Airways added its code “EY” to Saudi Airlines destinations in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, which contributed to supporting the growth and recovery of both companies, giving passengers and freight customers more options, comfort and flexibility, and strengthening ties between The two states.

In terms of other areas of cooperation, Etihad Airways Engineering and Saudi Airlines have cooperated in Umrah, repair and operational facilities in Abu Dhabi since 2016.
