Wizz Air plans to strengthen its operations in the skies over Saudi Arabia. The Hangrois air carrier has announced that it has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the objective of which is to seek solutions allowing the development of the operations of the low-cost company in the Asian country.
Wizz Air is particularly seeking to open flights facilitating the transport of passengers to Mecca and Medina, the holy places of Islam, especially during the pilgrimage season.
More than sixty two million tourists visit Saudi Arabia every year, and this number is likely to increase to seventy million tourists a year.
Wizz Air works closely with Saudi tourism organizations to seek the best investment solutions to promote the air transport sector in the country.
As a reminder, Hungary’s low-cost airline carried more than 3.6 million passengers last month while Wizz Air expects an explosion in air traffic during the summer month.
