Flyadeal : Cancel your plane ticket and get a refund

If you have taken a Flyadeal plane ticket and you were unable to travel, for example because one of your loved ones died, or you were injured at work, can you change your ticket, or cancel it and get a refund?

We must distinguish two situations. Either you have purchased a dry flight, or you have purchased a flight accompanied by another service, such as accommodation, called package travel.

In the first case, you are not entitled to any reimbursement except in exceptional cases (bereavement, serious illness of a loved one, etc.), apart from the reimbursement of airport taxes and fees, and you must necessarily make the express request. from the airline.

In the second case, that of package travel, as long as you cancel before departure, you can get a refund. The terms must be specified in your contract. You may be charged a refund fee depending on the date you canceled.

What if the country you plan to go to has more stringent rules preventing you from enjoying your trip?
If you have a single ticket, train or plane, it doesn't matter. But in the context of a package trip, the Tourism Code allows, in the event of exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, which have significant consequences on the execution of the contract or on the transport, to request the cancellation before departure and get full refund. The tour operator has the obligation to reimburse you within 14 days of requesting the cancellation.

Does paying with a bank card change anything?

All payment cards offer a travel guarantee. But cancellation guarantees are often associated with high-end cards. In addition, they are often very restrictive, capped, and they only allow you to request reimbursement in the event of a serious or random event, such as the illness or death of a loved one. So if you wish to request cancellation for reasons of force majeure, there is every reason to believe that you will not be reimbursed.

Access your Manage Reservation area to cancel your flight

It is possible to make changes to bookings made with Flyadeal. This operation includes the change of reservation (date, time of departure, etc.), change of reservation but also the cancellation of the flight and the reimbursement of the plane ticket.

Planning a trip is not always easy, it may be that at the last minute, some problem (health, availability, situation in the country of destination, etc.) forces you to cancel your stay.

But is it possible to cancel a plane ticket? And if so, can we claim a refund? How do I cancel and get a refund for a plane ticket in the event of an unforeseen event?

Indeed, the conditions for canceling a plane ticket issued by the Saudi company are clear. To be able to cancel their reservation and be reimbursed for the amount of their flight ticket, the passenger must provide proof, such as those mentioned above. This is provided a reason for cancellation proving that the traveler is the victim of an extraordinary circumstance. Example of force majeure: Pregnancy, health concerns, etc.

What if you do not have travel cancellation insurance?
Unfortunately if you haven't purchased a changeable or refundable ticket, and you haven't purchased cancellation insurance either, don't expect to be reimbursed for your plane ticket.

You can only claim reimbursement of the airport tax or the passenger charge.

In addition, to get the refund, you must meet and fulfill certain conditions:
- Have purchased your ticket from Flyadeal or from an intermediary such as a travel agency;
- Your ticket must no longer be valid;
- Not having used your ticket for a previous flight;
- Make an express request to the organization that sold you the ticket, by internet or by mail.

Typically, you will receive your refund within 21 or even 30 days of receipt of your request by the issuing company or travel agency.

If you are not sure if you can leave wherever you book your flight well in advance, it is better to opt for an open ticket (changeable / refundable), or even take out cancellation insurance. This will give you more peace of mind if something unexpected happens to you.
